Luna’s Doggie Den:

Daycare, Done Differently

Welcome to Luna's doggie den

Luna’s Doggie Den is a modern, home-from-home doggie daycare rooted in nature, nourishment, and care thoughtfully designed around what dogs actually need to feel settled, fulfilled, and at ease.

Set on the edge of Sanderstead, just minutes from the open fields of Riddlesdown Common, I provide calm, structured care for dogs who enjoy gentle socialising, meaningful time outdoors, and plenty of opportunity to rest and recharge.

Why daycare, done differently?

Traditional full-day daycare doesn’t suit every dog. In fact, many dogs don’t need a long day away from home. At Luna’s Doggie Den, half-day enrichment sessions are our standard offering, because a thoughtfully structured session can meet a dog’s needs fully through adventure, enrichment, rest, and companionship.

Owners aren’t paying for an afternoon of sleeping; they’re investing in a meaningful, fulfilling experience that allows dogs to head home calm, content, and ready to rest in the comfort of their own home.

Enrichment Sessions

Our Enrichment 4.5 hour Sessions are designed around what dogs genuinely need to feel happy, calm, and fulfilled.

Each session begins with a long countryside walk (typically 1–1.5 hours) on Riddlesdown Common or Kingswood, giving dogs the opportunity to explore, sniff, move freely, and enjoy the company of a small, friendly pack.

After their countryside adventure, dogs return to the Den for breakfast, followed by a calm, balanced mix of rest, relaxed play, cuddles, gentle grooming where needed (or tolerated!), and enrichment. Activities are thoughtfully chosen to reflect natural canine behaviours and instincts, allowing dogs to decompress fully — both mentally and physically — before heading home relaxed, content, and ready for a well-earned nap.

Local pick-up and drop-off are included, making the experience simple and seamless for owners.

A dog-centred approach to happiness

Dogs do many things that don’t always make sense to us — but they make perfect sense to them.

Digging. Rolling. Sniffing for ages. For Luna, it’s sniffing out something (not so) wonderfully fox-scented and then enthusiastically rubbing her cheeks into it!

These behaviours are part of a dog’s natural instincts and predatory motor patterns, and they release endorphins that help dogs feel calm, satisfied, and happy. As long as a behaviour isn’t causing harm, it’s not something to be discouraged it’s something to be understood and managed safely.

At Luna’s Doggie Den, I embrace these natural behaviours on our walks and, where appropriate, reflect them back through enrichment activities at the Den. Yes, that might mean muddy paws after digging, or the occasional full body shampoo following a particularly joyful roll but those moments are part of a dog living a fulfilled life.

And it’s my job to let them enjoy themselves, tidy up after their adventures, and return them to you happy, calm, and clean!

Who we welcome

We welcome dogs of all ages and sizes, provided they are friendly, comfortable in a group environment, and have the energy to enjoy a 1-1.5 hour countryside walk. My focus is always on calm, compatible packs where every dog feels safe, relaxed, and included. For this reason, adult dogs must be neutered.

With time in nature, space to rest, and care that respects a dog’s instincts, Luna’s Doggie Den offers a balanced rhythm that dogs genuinely thrive on — and that owners can feel confident and happy about.

Meet & Greets & Joining the Den

I ask that all new dogs and their owner attend a relaxed meet-and-greet walk before joining Luna’s Doggie Den. This gives me the opportunity to get to know your dog in a natural setting, see how they interact with Luna, and assess whether they’re comfortable with the kind of walks that form the heart of my Adventure & Enrichment Sessions.

Depending on availability, meet & greet walks may take place as a short local walk (for example, around the park) or, where possible, as a longer countryside walk on Riddlesdown Common over a weekend.

Before arranging a meet & greet, I’ll ask you to complete a short questionnaire about your dog. This helps ensure expectations are clear from the outset and allows me to create calm, compatible packs where every dog feels safe, relaxed, and included.

For dogs to attend daycare, they must be fully vaccinated, and adult dogs must be neutered. Puppies are welcome once they have begun their vaccination course; until they are fully vaccinated, they will be carried in a sling on walks or supervised on a blanket in the garden, allowing them to enjoy gentle socialisation in a safe, controlled way. Once fully vaccinated, puppies can begin to join in short sections of the walk, with the remainder carried as needed, gradually building confidence and stamina at a pace appropriate to their age and physical development.

This step-by-step approach ensures that Luna’s Doggie Den remains a calm, happy environment for your dog, for Luna, and for every guest who joins the pack.

"I first met Tracey around the time she adopted Luna whilst walking my dog. Since then we have walked our dogs together weekly and become great friends. Tracey’s zest and enthusiasm is a delight and I know she will do well in whatever she does. My dog adores Tracey and Luna and when he has been to her for daycare he comes back happy, clean and tired - which is all I want for my dog. I would not hesitate to recommend Tracey ( and Luna)."

"Tracey came highly recommended by another local dog walker and has been invaluable to us. She has been very welcoming to our dog who loves going out with her, as evidenced by Tracey's video updates from their walks. Tracey has been informative about her business so we know our dog is in very safe hands. Thank you!"

"We tried Lunas Doggy Daycare to help walk my two dogs and couldn’t be happier. Tracey is great at keeping me posted with picture updates during the walk, which I really appreciated. My dogs had a lovely time and got some great socialising in. As an added bonus, they even cleaned their paws afterwards! Reliable, thoughtful, and fantastic with dogs highly recommend."
